DUST AND WATER - BB ART

My second of three fantasybigbang fics that I chose to do art for and this was for quantumlobster's brilliant fic, Dust And Water. It was nothing like I thought it would be! I absolutely loved it but my only warning is that you need to make sure you have your tissues with you when you read it! pekori did the mix for this fic so make sure you have a look!

Summary: Aren, a young officer in the army of the Tyrunian Empire, is brought on trumped-up charges to an internment camp established by his own army to contain political prisoners, built in the middle of the enkava, the poisonous dead zone around the destroyed city of Dracia. He reluctantly joins the other captives in eking out a marginal existence, though there seems to be a hidden purpose to their actions that he cannot discern. Upon fleeing the camp after the other inmates were killed by Tyrunian soldiers in response to shifting political winds in the Empire, Aren finds himself the unwilling custodian of the secrets that they had risked their lives to preserve.

These are so amazing. Really, I'm speechless. All I could do was scroll up and down with an idiotic grin on my face.

I love the colors, and the scenes you chose. Those rocks could just as easily be ruined buildings of the city. And the man trudging across the dunes... I think you read my mind!

I'm so glad you liked it! The poster was what I thought of when I first read the summary in claims and I still had it in mind after reading the fic so I knew I had to do it :D And the mix fits in so well that I'm totally chuffed with our team! :D

I echo what QL said about the rocks appearing as the building of Dracia! That was precisely what I'd thought, too.

I think I'm most partial to the second banner and icon ten -- there is just something about that particular rock-shape and the lighting behind it that strikes me.

Fantastic work with all of these! I love how everything came together as if we were all of one brain. :3

Thanks mate! I have to admit, that was the first time I've ever worked on a BB team that has been so in sync so I'm totally excited!!! The mix was perfect and everything together is just perfection! If this were a contest, we'd totally win!!! :D

And plus, I'm in about a zillion BBs so chances are you guys will pop up again :D Mostly art but I've got a couple of written pieces due soon and I just signed up at bigbang_mixup as a mixer, author AND artist so my feelers are out. Though if you ever wanna do something off the BB list, I'm DEFINITELY there! :P
