The third fantasybigbang fic that I chose was for a mix for merigreenleaf's wonderful fic, Hidden Magic. It was funny and sweet and something I'd definitely love to read a sequel to! You should also check out the gorgeous art that jack_spire did to accompany this fic.

Summary: Meren, an unusual elf girl (and her more unusual centaur "brother") take up the task of hunting down a band of orc trespassers. When she stumbles into a pitfall, Meren finds an object: an amulet that gives strange new powers. Little does she know that an increasingly desperate young wizard is looking for the very same amulet, and that their paths are destined to crisscross in a weave of chaotic magic...

Well, the pendant didn't turn out quite the way that I wanted it to but I was still pretty happy with that I was able to combine the stones so I considered it a win anyway :P And I LOVED that tattoos so much - still kinda looks like she's only recently gotten them rather than was born with them but something is better than nothing.

Well, wood elves aren't born with tattoos- I'd imagine they get them at about the time they're almost adults and needing them for camouflage when they're out scouting or hunting in the woods (as kids they probably play around with paints made from berries or something, lol). I didn't get into that in the story, though, since Meren was already well into her teens when the story started. So no worries! It really does look perfect! My artist did the tattoos differently than I'd imagined, but yours are actually right on- I always pictured them trailing on a wood elf's body in delicate tendrils with lots of leaves, whereas jack_spire drew them more as a thick ... vine, I guess I'd call it?

And wow, I'm rambling. XD
